Rising Insecurity: Anambra Community Seeks Safety And Protection Of Citizens

By Mgbechi Emmanuel Igwebuike

The recent invasion of Omasi community in Ayamelum LGA, Anambra State by gunmen resulting in the death of one Sunday Nweke and the kidnapping of several individuals, including Dr. Nwajiana and Innocent Onyibor, is a tragic and disturbing event that highlights the escalating insecurity in the region.

This act of violence not only resulted in the loss of life but also disrupted the lives of the victims and their families, leaving behind a trail of trauma and devastation. It is essential for the authorities to swiftly investigate the matter, bring the perpetrators to justice, and take concrete steps to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

The safety and security of every community member, regardless of their background, should be a top priority for the government. It is vital for peaceful coexistence and harmony among different groups within society to be upheld, and any form of violence or lawlessness must be unequivocally condemned.

As we stand in solidarity with the people of Omasi and Omor community whose indegines were kidnapped during this challenging time, it is crucial for all stakeholders to work together to ensure safety and protection of all citizens.

The indigenes have called on the state Commissioner of Police, to save them from the high spate of insecurity in the areas.
